EPS1-40

Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) serve as the primary defense against transient overvoltage surges in power grids, engineered to intercept kilovolt-level transient voltages induced by lightning strikes or switching operations. Their core function leverages voltage clamping and energy diversion mechanisms to channel hazardous surges into grounding systems within nanosecond-level speed, ensuring terminal voltage of downstream equipment remains stabilized within safe thresholds.

  • Compliant with IEC 61643-11
  • Wide temp range -40℃~+70℃
  • High 40kA discharge, low <1.8kV protection
  • Clear status: green=normal, red=replace
  • Easy 35mm DIN rail fit, multi-ground compatible

Product
Description

EPS1 Series SPDs deliver 40kA maximum discharge current with <1.5kV protection level for 275V-440V continuous operating voltageacross 2P/4P configurations, featuring 25ns ultra-fast response to intercept lightning-induced surges. With visual status indicators (green/red) complying with IEC 61643-11 standards, their IP20-rated PA housings withstand -40°C to +70°C extremes using V0 flame-retardant materials. Designed for 35mm DIN rail mounting and 6-25mm² terminals, they ensure robust protection in motor control centers, HVAC panels, and renewable energy inverters against transient overvoltages.

To ensure long-term stable operation, systematic periodic maintenance is required: monthly check status indicators (green normal, red failure) and enclosure temperature under 60℃; quarterly clean dust with dry tools only and inspect for cracks or arc marks; annually test electrical performance (insulation resistance over 1MΩ, leakage current under 1mA, residual voltage under 1.5kV) and grounding (resistance under 4Ω, terminal tightness), and calibrate environment (temperature -40°C to +70°C, humidity under 80%). Replace with OEM modules immediately after over 10 surges, over 5 years (standard) or 3 years (high-lightning/coastal areas), or MOV/GDT degradation. No disassembly by non-professionals. Record data and replacement dates per IEC 61643-11/GB 18802.1 for continuous protection of industrial power and renewable systems.
