One of the causes of the leakage of the lighting circuit is that the insulation of the wire or electrical equipment is damaged by external forces; the second is that the wire runs through the long-term, resulting in deterioration of the insulation; third, the wire is invaded or contaminated by moisture and causes poor insulation.

The maintenance of the leakage fault first judges whether it really leaks electricity. Can be used pointer type multimeter R × 10k measure measuring circuit insulation resistance size, or digital multimeter placed in the AC current block (this time equivalent to a current meter), in series on the main switch, turn on all switches, remove all the load ( Including light bulbs). If there is a current, there is leakage. After determining that the circuit is leaking, follow the steps below to continue the inspection.

(1) It is judged whether there is leakage between the phase line and the neutral line, or leakage between the phase line and the earth, or both. The method is to cut off the zero line, if the ammeter indicates the same, it is the phase line and earth leakage; if the ammeter indicates zero, it is the leakage between the phase line and the zero line; the ammeter indicates small but not zero, it is the phase line and zero Leakage between the line, the phase line and the earth.

(2) Determine the leakage range. Remove the shunt fuse or pull open the circuit breaker. If the ammeter indicates the same, it indicates bus leakage; if the ammeter indicates zero, it is the shunt leakage; if the ammeter indicates a small but non-zero value, it indicates the bus and the shunt. All have leakage currents.

(3) Find out the leakage point. After the above inspection, the switch of the line lamp is turned off in turn. When the switch is turned off, the ammeter indicates zero return, and the branch line is leaked; if it is smaller, this branch line leaks and there is leakage elsewhere; If all the light switches are off, the ammeter indicates no change, indicating that the mains lead is leaking. By narrowing the scope of accidents in turn, it is possible to further inspect the joints of the section of the line, as well as whether or not leakage occurred at the places where the conductors pass through the wall. After finding the leakage point, the leakage failure should be eliminated in time.
