New Energy Photovoltaic

In recent years, in response to the backdrop of global climate change becoming an international mainstream issue, the transition to cleaner, lower-carbon, and more efficient energy sources has become a general trend. With the rapid changes in the technological revolution, the economic efficiency of new energy has greatly increased. On November 3, 2016, the Paris Agreement on Global Climate Change was formally implemented, which means that the pace of new energy development will be further accelerated. China also clearly stated that carbon emissions should reach a peak by 2030, and the ratio of non-fossil energy will increase to more than 20%.

The core issue of new energy development is cost. Although compared with traditional energy sources, new energy does not yet have competitiveness in terms of cost, but it has fallen sharply when compared with when it first appeared. Especially in recent years, the cost of new energy such as photovoltaics, wind power, and solar thermal energy has dropped significantly. . At the opening ceremony of the 2016 Beijing International Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition, officials from the National Energy Administration stated that in the next 5 to 10 years, the cost of wind power will also drop by 20% to 25% on the basis of the current benchmark price. In 2017, the cost of photovoltaic power generation is also falling rapidly. The price after the subsidy is subsidized and the gap between coal power and gas power is narrowing or even appearing later. With the continuous progress of new energy technologies, the continuous growth of investment, and the promotion of large-scale production, it is hoped that the cost structure will be further improved, and the rapid decline in cost will become the trend of new energy development.

The competitiveness continues to increase. The National Energy Conference proposed that in 2017, China will actively promote key projects in the fields of hydropower, wind power, nuclear power, photovoltaic power generation, and solar thermal power generation, and strive to start a new hydropower installation with a capacity of 20 million kilowatts and an installed capacity of 20 million kilowatts of newly-added wind power grids. The newly added photovoltaic power generation installed capacity of 18 million kilowatts, and strive to start a new nuclear power installed capacity of 10 million kilowatts. In 2017, China will establish a carbon emissions trading market. The release of market value of carbon will further narrow the cost competition between new energy and traditional energy, thus enhancing the competitiveness of new energy.

The photovoltaic industry is the most noteworthy. In recent years, China's photovoltaic industry has developed rapidly, and it has gained an opportunity in the international competition. It has become the world's most important photovoltaic product manufacturing country and the fastest-growing photovoltaic application market. In 2017, by taking full advantage of its industry support and technology, scale, cost, etc., and through policy guidance to solve outstanding problems such as abandoning the light, the competitiveness of the photovoltaic industry will still be further improved.
